With our unique top-down design, the customer has many choices to combine beautiful art behind their family tree as a background. You will find family tree ideas for the “theme” of your family, which can be culture or heritage designs from your birth country or ancestors country of origin. Or, you can choose from some amazing photographs. Each are square to fit the design and most have a concentric or radial pattern to complement the top-down dendritic branching of your family tree.
I designed my wife’s family tree with her great grandfather (paternal) and grandmother in the center. Decades radiate from the center and branches show each child. Branches divide when children have children, and so on. From a top-down view, the branches look natural. I chose a background image of the night sky from within a forest of tall trees. You can see some of these geometric background image ideas at my Pinterest.
These family tree ideas create a square and a frame for the art image behind the top-down tree centered in the square and the circles of time. Generations (related children born in 1980 for example) are side-by-side rather than spread out horizontally or vertically.
You have two family trees, your maternal side and your paternal side. Now image squares for each with circles of time radiating from the center of each. Slide the squares together until the date circle from one (say 1960) intersects the same date circle from the other. The overlap is what I call “The confluence of modern time”.
Please read my blog article about overlapping time to learn more about that time relationship – you wouldn’t exist without it!
